Los Angeles duo NIGHT CLUB formed in 2011 and began writing songs together that combined pure pop of PINK with the heavier spectre of punk rock and heavy metal using a synthesized template.
Their sexy, minor key framework resulted in a pair of promising EPs.
The second EP ‘Love Casualty’ included their breakthrough calling card ‘Poisonous’, a catchy pop tune that came over like Britney gone Emo. They released their best EP yet ‘Black Leather Heart’ in 2014. More recently, NIGHT CLUB have contributed music to the soundtrack of Comedy Central animation series ‘Moonbeam City’ which features the voice of one-time Brat Packer Rob Lowe. They are currently recording their debut album.
Meanwhile, VILE ELECTRODES need no introduction. Following a successful stint supporting OMD on the German leg of their ‘English Electric’ tour plus another slot opening for JOHN FOXX & THE MATHS, their debut long player ‘The future through a lens’ was released in September 2013.
The duo subsequently snapped up two Schallwelle Awards for ‘Best International Album’ and ‘Best International Artist’ in 2014. Paul Humphreys recently even went to see them perform in Barcelona while he was in the city on duty with OMD.
Their current single ‘Captive In Symmetry’ is one of the best songs of 2015 and the pair are currently finishing work on their long awaited second album.
A new EP ‘Stark White’ comes out on Halloween to coincide with their appearance at the ELECTRI_CITY_Conference in Düsseldorf.
The South Coast couple play a three song session for BBC Introducing – South on SATURDAY 17TH OCTOBER between 20:00-21:00 (UK time). Listen online at http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcsussex
Also on the bill will be indie electro popsters REAL EXPERTS. They also have a new album ‘The Trade Off’ out this week.
VILE ELECTRODES, NIGHT CLUB + REAL EXPERTS appear at Dublin Castle, 94 Parkway, Camden, London NW1 7AN on WEDNESDAY 25TH NOVEMBER 2015.
